The way I see it is this: Stay away from the MFC for games. Just use the raw win32, you'll be happier in the end. From my standpoint, you either hate the mfc (microsoft foundation classes) or you love it. Personally, I hate it. That hate mainly spawned from this 2000 page hardback book on programming with the mfc. Its a great book, but ugh--. You probably gather what I mean. Its not hard to create a window with regular win32... thats all you'd really need.
